Pi Beta Phi believes literacy is a powerful stepping stone for all individuals. One in four children across the United States is illiterate, restricting them from unlocking their true potential. However, Pi Beta Phi is dedicated to making a meaningful impact through the Read > Lead > Achieve foundation, focusing our philanthropic services toward creating a more literate and productive society.

The WA Alpha Chapter is devoted to spreading awareness about the importance of literacy and our strong philanthropy. We believe that reading is the foundation for lifelong learning and personal growth. Here is how the WA Alpha Chapter strive to make a difference. 

We proudly support our philanthropy through local initiatives, including book drives and fundraising events. Our biggest philanthropy fundraiser is Arrow Games, which occurs in the Spring. Arrow Games engages the community through a week full of fun. Our hosted events include a day sponsored by Sugar and Spoon, a book drive, a feed, and the fan favorite, the flag football tournament. Throughout this week, our chapter works together to promote literacy and connect with as many individuals as possible, educating them about the importance of literacy. Other events we host during the school year include the annual Pizookie feed, serving the community warm cookies paired perfectly with cold ice cream, Crushes and Carnations, Boo Bags, and more! All proceeds are donated to the Read > Lead > Achieve foundation, granting children the ability to achieve their academic desires and face life confidently. As a chapter, we are passionate about this cause and work together to promote positive reading initiatives.
